NSAI & BBA approved high density foam insulation

WALLTITE closed cell spray and injection foam insulation is manufactured by BASF Polyurethanes at one of their systems houses located in Alfreton, UK. With its low thermal conductivity and high vapour resistivity WALLTITE provides the building owner with superior performance achieving lower U – Values and higher water resistance constructions in an airtight system. This high performance spray insulation system provides a fast and easy apply alternative to more traditional methods of insulating.

WALLTITE Insulation Slates TilesWALTITE closed cell foam can be applied directly to the underside of a slate or tile roof covering. In all applications of this nature it is important that the existing roof covering is made water-tight prior to the spraying process. In the event that water passes though the slate or tile covering it will normally lodge between the roof covering and the water resistant foam and so any leak may go undetected. It is also important to not that this process will significantly increase the attachment of the slates or tile covering. With this in mind the likelihood of future alterations to the roof to include the removal of the slates or tiles should be considered.

WALLTITIE is applied between rafters beginning at the eaves and working towards the ridge area in a “flash coat” of less than 10mm in thickness. This ensures that the void between the roof covering and the upper face of the rafter is completely filled. Subsequent coats not exceeding 20mm in thickness are applied until the desired final thickness has been achieved. WALLTITE is BBA Agrément certified for this application.

3.1_New_timber_frame_wall_WALLTITE is applied directly between the studs onto the OSB. The stud depth should be sufficient to meet the recommended elemental U-value.

Unwanted air leakage and air infiltration is minimised and sound attenuation improved.

Polyurethane foams are hypo allergenic and so contain no fibres or dust and no noxious vapours. Mechanical and electrical services can be fixed between the foam and the plasterboard. WALLTITE® is very quick to install minimising on overhead costs, site storage and waste.

Dryling insulation-steel stud - CopyWALLTITE can be applied directly onto a solid masonry wall, around the frame/channel brackets, without the need for traditional adhesion promoters or mechanical fixings.

This method greatly reduces repeating thermal bridges through the insulation caused by either timber studs or metal frames.

The resulting continuous insulation and air barrier system will provide a permanent solution for any ‘hard to treat’ solid wall situation.

Dryling insulation-timber stud - CopyWALLTITE can be applied directly onto a solid masonry wall, between 90mm or 140mm timber studs, without the need for traditional adhesion promoters or mechanical fixings.

Mechanical and electrical services can be fixed between the foam and the plasterboard.

WALLTITE guarantees additional support and stability for the whole of the timber frame construction.

The resulting continuous insulation and air barrier system will provide a cleaner, healthier more comfortable environment for any “hard to treat” home situation.

Spray-foam-masonry-cavity-wallWALLTITE is used to restore the structural stability and reduce the thermal transmittance of existing cavity walls, with masonry inner and outer levels, in which the conventional wall ties have corroded. It is also used in new construction where its superior thermal performance and resistance to flood water is of importance. It has excellent resistance to driving rain and can be installed in all geographical exposure zones.

WALLTITE is also ideal where the need to reduce air leakage is important. The foam seals the cavity, does not shrink or allow air to pass through it, therefore air leakage through the cavity can be reduced to zero. WALLTITE stabilises the wall by adhering to the inner surfaces of the cavity and providing a continuous structural connection between the two leaves.

The system can also be used on random stone walls that form uneven cavities.

FOAM-LOK open cell spray foam insulation provides a cost effective fully breathable insulation solution.

Manufactured by Lapolla Industries it is installed by a nationwide network of trained and registered contractors each of whom undergo regular audit by to ensure that installations are carried out in line with the appropriate Part L insulation and Part F ventilation regulation requirements.

Less energy will be employed with FOAM-LOK insulation to heat or cool the building saving up to 50% on monthly costs and keeping conditioned air inside and unconditioned air out.

  • FOAM-LOK spray foam is an air barrier but not a vapour barrier and will manage moisture migration through the wall or roof structure.
  • Thermal conductivity of 0.037 W/mk (Lambda 90/90). This the lowest in it’s class thereby making it the most thermally efficient.
  • Euroclass E fire rating as a stand alone product. This is unique to open cell spray foam  insulation types.
  • Class C sound absorption at 160mm.
  • NSAI Agrément Approval, ETA (European Technical Approval) and BBA (British Board of Agrément) certified. FOAM-LOK is CE marked.

SPRAY FOAM INSULATION TIMBER FRAME IMG - EAVES VENTILATED SOFFIT CFOAM-LOK can be installed between rafters to the required thickness in order to provide a particular level of insulation or U-Value. The open cell spray foam can be cut flush with the adjacent timbers to allow for plasterboard fixing or can be sprayed proud of the roof rafter to the desired thickness.

FOAM-LOK spray foam can be applied with breathable roofing felts when a counterbatten is present above the felt and below the tile / slate batten in accordance with Irish and UK Building Regulations. A breathable rafter slide is fitted directly between rafters and directly to underside of the breathable roof membrane.

This details allows for the full use of the rafter depth as the necessary ventilation layer above the vapour permeable roofing felt.

SPRAY FOAM INSULATION TIMBER FRAME IMG -EAVES VENTILATED SOFFIT (RAFTER)A vapour permeable rafter slide is placed between rafters to act a separation layer between the foam insulation and roofing membrane. This rafter slide is positioned to maintain a clear 50mm ventilation void as required by regulation.

FOAM-LOK is then spray applied to the required thickness in order to provide a particular level of insulation or U-Value. The open cell spray foam can be cut flush with the adjacent timbers to allow for plasterboard fixing or can be sprayed proud of the roof rafter to the desired thickness.

SPRAY FOAM INSULATION DRYLINING IMG - FLAT ROOF PARAPETFOAM-LOK spray insulation is applied to the underside of the flat roof deck to the required thickness to achieve target U-values. A layer of rigid board insulation is fixed to the uppermost face of the timber deck thereby constructing a warm roof structure and negating the need for a 50mm ventilated air layer.

A cold roof scenario occurs when an insulation layer is absent above the timber deck. In this case it is important to maintain a 50mm ventilated void  between any insulation layer and the underside of the timber deck.

SPRAY FOAM INSULATION DRYLINING IMG - EAVES DETAILFOAM-LOK can be installed between horizontal ceiling joists to the required thickness in order to provide a particular level of insulation or U-Value combined with airtightness. The open cell spray foam is ordinarily applied to below the uppermost level of ceiling joists. A counter joist can be fixed onto the ceiling joist to allow for a thicker layer if required.

If downlighters are present they must be encapsulated with cover prior to the application of foam.  Although electrical cables can be submerged within the foam layer it is recommended to route these through conduit for ease of access at a later date.

SPRAY FOAM INSULATION DRYLINING IMG - EAVES (RAFTER)A vapour permeable rafter slide is placed between rafters to act a separation layer between the foam insulation and non -breathable roofing membrane. This rafter slide is positioned to maintain a clear 50mm ventilation void as required by regulation.

FOAM-LOK is then spray applied to the required thickness in order to provide a particular level of insulation or U-Value. The open cell spray foam can be cut flush with the adjacent timbers to allow for plasterboard fixing or can be sprayed proud of the roof rafter to the desired thickness.

SPRAY FOAM INSULATION DRYLINING IMG-CORNERFOAM-LOK can be applied directly onto a dry solid masonry wall, between timber studs to achieve the required U-value and airtightness level.

Mechanical and electrical services can be fixed within the foam material however the use electrical conduit is recommended.

FOAM-LOK can installed to fully fill the timber studwork and is shaved flush with the inner stud facing prior to the application of the VCL and plasterboard inner lining.
